SSEA

From 2016 to 2024, I directed the Society for the Study of Ethics and Animals (SSEA), which hosts an online colloquium series and various in person workshops. It's now led by Avram Hiller.

The SSEA was founded by Harlan B. Miller (Virginia Tech) in 1979. As Miller wrote in 1980: "The Society for the Study of Ethics and Animals has been established to provide for the exchange of information and provide arenas for discussion and debate between those interested in ethical questions concerning human treatment of nonhuman animals. The Society will not take sides, and is committed only to open discussion."

You can register for updates from the SSEA here and join the conversation here.
